Gone are the days when we could boost our immune systems just by walking barefoot through dirt, soaking up the sun and drinking from an old hose spigot. With everyone wearing masks and gloves, over-sanitizing everything in sight and spending (on average) 93% of our lives indoors we need to boost our immune systems like never before.
But how?
I am not going to claim that you can simply boost your immune system by taking a pill and urge you to buy Ultimate Immune BoosterX2 now if you want to live a happy, long and healthy life. That would be too easy and there are way too many factors, choices, habits, consistencies, and disciplined decisions that go into living a healthy lifestyle. And hey, everybody (and every body) is different.
Here are a few basics that are often overlooked that you can do, TODAY:
1. Drink more quality water.
So many water companies over filter their water, actually a lot of the bottled water we drink is just super filtered toilet water. But there are some quality choices out there that still have good minerals that our bodies need and we don't get from our daily diet. Some of my favorites that can be purchased just about anywhere included Svalbardi, Fiji and Evian.
(This is 100% my opinion but I do feel better and more "hydrated" when I drink quality water with a detailed TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) list, but drink what makes you happy.) Svalbardi published an interesting article about TDS, its worth a read.
Side note about water, did you know that some of the "healthier" places in the world actually don't drink water during their meals? They say it dilutes the stomach acids that break up their food, turn on metabolism and keep their digestive systems functioning optimally. I am no expert, but that actually makes sense to me.
2. Get outside.
The sun is powerful, very powerful. I don't mean get outside and get sunburned, but get outside as often as you can throughout the day. Sunlight is essential for human health and well-being. Sunlight generates the production of vitamin D, supports bone health, lowers blood pressure, promotes good mental health among an extremely long list of scientifically proven benefits. Yet most of us sleep inside, eat inside, drive inside a car, work inside (most of the day), drink inside a car home just to eat dinner inside and go back to sleep, inside. According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), the average American spends 93% of their life indoors. 87% inside buildings and 6% inside automobiles. That's only 7%, or 12 hours per week under the sun and sky. (SnowBrains wrote a great article with more details, see that here)
3. Supplement what know you don't get from your daily diet.
Yep, the saying "you are what you eat" is accurate. Just give it a google, there are countless scientific studies that show what you eat directly effects your long term health and short term feelings. So its easy, just eat life-sustaining, healthy whole foods all the time, right? Unfortunately for all of us, eating life-sustaining, healthy, whole foods is harder than it should be. That doesn't mean we should give up, it just means that we need to prioritize eating right as often as we can.
But what about when we know we are not getting what our bodies need to keep our immune systems running at the optimal level? Supplement.
At this point you are either convincing yourself you drink plenty of quality water (about an ounce per your body weight per day), beat the status quo and spend way more time outside that the average American, and only eat life-sustaining, healthy, whole foods for every meal, or you don't even think its possible. If you do, great job! You are either going to outlive every one you know or are lying to yourself. Its hard.
You probably know many certified health nutritionists, personal trainers, dietitians and medical professionals that admit they know exactly what to do, but struggle. So if you struggle, (like most), its normal, and that is why dietary supplements exist. Almost every body takes a supplement of some kind.
Ok, here is the part where I tell you why you should definitely order some Ultimate Immune BoosterX2 to either take daily or have in your medicine cabinet for those times when everyone around you is getting sick and you want to turbocharge your immune system. :)
But seriously, here is a list of some supplements you should absolutely consider taking if you know you don't drink enough quality water, get enough time outside and definitely don't eat only life-sustaining, healthy whole foods for every meal.
Vitamin C - Vitamin C is necessary for growth, development and repair of all body tissues and is involved in many of the body functions, including the formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the proper function of the immune system, wound healing and the maintenance of cartilage, bones and teeth. Vitamin E - Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that can help protect the body from oxidative stress.
